Books to look out for during lockdown
Lookout for these reads during lockdown
There are many fine books out in April and May where authors are compelled to stay in doors and not have an official launch. They are missing their day of glory in many ways (although it’s still there, it’s harder to celebrate of course) Writers love meeting readers, having an official launch and then getting to talk about their book which have been a labour of love for so long. It’s hard to not connect books to readers face to face! Then there’s no bookshop tours, library talks etc…
So, there are a few authors whose books I want to highlight for their literary travel potential. There are some wonderful literary holidays to take and what more could we need at this time in particular?
So, grab your passport (ie book) and settle in for your flight to one or more of these lovely places. Don’t forget there are NO travel restrictions with these journeys! Take them all! For the price of a book:
Literary setting : Caribbean
Samantha Tonge – The Summer Island Swap
Sometimes the best holidays are the ones you least expect…
After a long and turbulent year, Sarah is dreaming of the five-star getaway her sister has booked them on. White sands, cocktails, massages, the Caribbean is calling to them.
Things don’t always turn out the way you expect them too however….

Escape to the French Farmhouse by Jo Thomas
Oh to feel the French sunshine on your face and smell the lavender aroma in the air! This is a sunny book from start to finish – well there’s a cloud in the form of a divorce in the book and a huge life changing decision to be made…..but the woman in this book takes back control of her life and you’ll be cheering her along the way!
Literary setting :Malta
Summer on a Sunny Island by Sue Moorcroft
This summer, sparks are flying on the island of Malta… Ah this is just the book you need to escape when you can’t go anywhere in real life. Malta is a great place to discover as it’s an island, has plenty of history and….well anything and everything can happen here as you will discover!
Sue Moorcroft can always be depended upon to write a gripping tale and take her readers off to somewhere new and exciting.
Literary setting: An Italian class in Rome!
