Pick your Perfect Poolside Read – Travel the World this Summer with Bestsellers from Quercus Books!

Summer reading club

Sounds like the perfect summer to us! So when we were asked to hop on board, well could we refuse? No sir. There are going to be quite a few books highlighted during this summer tour – all great Quercus titles and the first one has been a chiller in Sweden. Just to ensure you feel the heat of the summer when it all heats up. The first novel is The Girl in the Spider’s Web set in Sweden and the second is Kitchens of the Great Midwest which is set in the more hot and heady foodie infused days of the American Midwest. Something for everyone!

The roadmap and the dates for the tour are as follows:

The Girl in the Spider’s Web  –Your holiday to Sweden starts here

Kitchens of the Great Midwest – Your holiday to the American Midwest starts here

Last Dance in Havana – Cuba (27 June – 10 July) – Your holiday to Havana starts here

Summer reading clubFlorence Grace  – Cornwall  (11-24 July)

Asking For It  – Ireland (25 July – 7 August)

Love Notes for Freddie  – England (8-21 August)

The Tenderness of Wolves  – Canada (10th Anniversary) (22 August – 1 September)

So we’ve got our suitcase ready, have you?  Have you got a good summer picture of one of these Quercus titles? Just love a challenge like this. The places we’ll go and the books we’ll read along the way. Tell you what, I particularly love Rosanna Ley’s book and could not wait to speak with her on the booktrail. She’s constantly written some of our favourite titles and where locations and destinations for summer holidays are concerned, well let’s just say we’d happily get on a plane and go to any of them. Cuba however was a real favourite and not just for the rhumba!

So come on let’s all get on board and get that holiday feeling of reading and travelling the world the soundtrack of the summer. Libraries all around the country will also be joining in  150  in total  – will be promoting the summer reads programme too by creating summer reading displays and a host of other content too.

Reading for the summer really is the perfect holiday – staycation or holiday in the sun? Who cares when you have a book that can take you anywhere you fancy?

We’re dancing the Quercus quickstep into some fun holiday reading (Mojitos also involved no doubt) See you on the beach!
