Well this got my cosy crime and mystery feels right up from the start!
An 81 year old crime queen goes missing in the middle of a blizzard. It’s a locked room mystery and there is no trace of going missing and no clues as to what might have happened. The people in the manor house are all suspects but as I met them all, I wondered what they would do, who they are and really wanted to get to know these people.
Turns out there’s someone who has had something against her for years. Oh there was so many crime tropes and themes in this book all tied up with a fat Christmas bow that I was excited! It’s a fun read with so much to love. I felt it celebrated the genre in so many ways and added Christmas spice to the mix. It felt golden age and cosy and I so wanted to be with them in this mansion despite the threat of murder.
It reminded me, or at least made me think of Knives Out and the Agatha Christie classic The Sitterford Mystery.
And I felt that Christmas warmth with Maggie and Ethan and their chemistry which is off the chart!
More please!
