Welcome on board!

Ooh I like this! A real twisty thriller with a series of plane journeys at its heart.  Claire and Eva are looking to escape their current lives for very different reasons. They meet by chance at an airport and decide to swap boarding passes and therefore lives. They’re through security and about to board their flights. What could go wrong? Well one thing – Eva boards a flight to Puerto Rico which crashes off the coast of Florida, while Claire flies to Oakland and assumes Eva’s identity.

We learn about Claire’s story in the present day and present tense whilst Eva’s comes out gradually in the months leading up to the crash. Talk about intrigue and chills! Loved the way these two stories were told and the voices of both was compelling and utterly gripping. The thrills come thick and fast and there’s plenty of heart-stopping moments as Claire gets in deeper and deeper. Before long, she’s stuck and the plot becomes twistier still. This was certainly a book that kept me turning the pages to find out what was going on.

The whole idea of jetting off to somewhere unexpected, then finding yourself adrift in a strange country….in even stranger circumstances. The author had fun writing this I imagine.

I’ve actually fancied swapping boarding passes with someone before. Not in real life but in a dream, a daydream when stuck at an airport. Imagine what would happen.

That cover is gripping too and totally adds to the overall feel of the book. Recommended from me!

I’d recommend this book as the perfect summer holiday read.
